"Thanks" for taking the time, and the good words.
The first out of us here, was via ORKUT and Rusty's
Community there, where I posted a short piece to him
and then someone picked up, and it went from there.
I never knew he had so many friends, and since then
Packet SPs and SBs, like yours ... phone calls, emails
other Internet ways, and just people coming to me and
saying how sorry and giving condoluences at our loss.
I know what you mean about your cats, and everyone
who takes an animal into their homes is going to go
thru this , and again...and again. It is not pleasant.
There is a lot behind Rusty's history, etc...I might
type up, BUT not right now. I can not do it, and
with other family events of saddness ...well not the
right time to post things.
Here is the ORKUT posting, done that day ... The
only thing done, as ...well it wasn't a great day,
and the only good thing, is I do not have to mention
this via the monthly YL net report for July 2010
I can omitt it.

Today,
Thursday July 22nd.,2010 @ 1215hrs EST ...
The Host of "A Dog's World", " RUSTY"
went to sleep, and now is with Janet and GOD.
Today's fortune in ORKUT as I signed on ....read;
"Try and Fail but don't fail to try."
When Janet, my mother, and his owner and companion while
I was at work passedaway 2005, she asked me to care for her
"little man" ... I promised, but it was going to be anyway,
and from that MARCH 12th 2005 to July 22 2010 ..
I feel I have done that and more. I tried everything, and my
support and all was my wife to find the better way to help
Rusty.
When he got the parasite eating his flesh and hair failing
out, and ears out like balloons, it was Maria that spurred
me on....to come up with an age old Scots cure from Scotland,
that my mother did for Rusty years ago....after a few goes
it worked and the parasite was beaten and with that too his
life returned to some normalicy.
His biggest problem and all dogs go thru this ,is their
back legs go, and his were already problems after 2 surgerys.
... He was on meds for that, and other things, but we found
ways to overcome, until a few days ago when his age and
health caught up, and there was nothing the vet could do...
and we did dicusss all ways to prolong his life.
In the end, the needle did the job within seconds....No pain
....we had a moment before he died...his heart stopped.
Rusty will be cremated and his urn will be buried with his
owner.
I have great memorys. I know in mind and heart I did all and
the right thing.
