Hi Folks,

Anyone who owns, or has used the FT-897 will know that managing the
memories is not as user friendly as it could be, mainly due to the fact
that there is no keypad for alpha-numeric character entry for memory
naming.

Does anyone out there know of any software which will allow editing and/or
management of the memory contents of the FT-897...?

I have some software which is usable with the IC-T81 handie. I'm not
expecting it to work with the 897 but I mention it as just an example of
the type of thing I'm looking for if available.

Or is there some way, other than cloning to another radio, of storing,
editing, altering, or otherwise viewing the cloning info...?

Other info I'm looking for is the 5 byte opcode commands for CAT
operation. There is a limited list in the user manual, and only slight
reference to it in the service technical suppliment.

I have no direct access to the net but any useful info will be welcome.

Thanks in advance for any info you can supply...
