Hi every one,

I do not normally get into discussions but this is a good one to start off
with.

My first radio was a Yeasu FT 411. Still going well and have used it for my
packet radio for the last 12 years, basically on all the time, and only off
for summer storms here in Brisbane.

I had a Yeasu FT 736r for many years and did not miss a beat. I now have an
FT 847 for the past 4 years and all ok. Great little set and so versitile.

I have a Kenwood tribander which is great as well.

Perhaps they are all wednesday productions, and the ones that are not so good
are Monday or Friday. I think they should date clearly the production day on
all maufactured items and extend warranties for all monday and friday
products. I am sure they would find a way around it, but it would help I am
sure in a short term.

At least Mitsubishi is putting it's money where it's mouth is here in
Australia and offering 5 - 10 year warranties on new cars. Cat amongst the
pigeons here.

See if amateur radio manufacturers will do the same ???

Good chatting with you all
