Alinco is a bit of a mixed bag with me.

However just look at the Alinco DX70 HF/6m rig and it's appaling and
unforgiveable molex connector plus rats nest method of connecting the
detachable front panel.

It won't be long before that fails and they've had more than enough time
to sort it out.

I also admire Kenwood equipment but they have failed with the TS50 by not
including a SWR meter like their competitors or even putting a finger
hole in the VFO knob which makes changing frequency a pain iot the rear
end !

But on the whole for me at least it's ICOM in first place, Kenwood in
second and Yaesu doesn't even register on my radar.

With other equipment I can see why MFJ gets it's name "Made From Junk" ;-)

Of course to redress the balance of duff rigs here's my own personal hate
list:

ICOM W2E and similar rigs.
Kenwood TS50.
Alinco DX70
Anything MFJ
Anything from AEA
Anything from Yaesu
Kenwood TH-7E (unprofessional built in TNC with too many bugs)

My favourites list:
Just about anything ICOM.
IC-735
IC706 (any Mark)
ICW31E handheld

Anything by Standard C520/C558/C528 and others.
