22Mbps is the fastest at 2.4GHz, but there are speeds of up to 54Mbps at
5GHz and up!

Distances of up to 14km's have been acheived on the bog standard WLAN
cards using a hombrew tincan antenna and a Sky Minidish, so if power is
increased this could go a hell of a lot further!
I'm running a rather small community based WLAN connection with a 2Mb
Broadband net connection within a range on 1000m, and it works super, and
I'm now planning to go further by adding another high'ish gain antenna to
this end of the network.
