Hi Mark,
I'll tell you what the difference is, LAN Central sells the cables
already made up, but that TNC from Ham Central* comes with the DIN cable
having only the TNC end made up. You have to break out the soldering iron
and reading glasses, put the brain in gear to make up the other end with
the microphone connector and 1/8" phone plug to fit in the external
speaker jack on the back of the 2M rig.
Now is that saying that the Hams have a little more on the ball than the
WiFi jockeys? You bet! Then again people like you turn the tables by
taking it a step further, putting the whole mess on an Amateur microwave
frequency and developing a viable system with it. (;->)
* Ham Central is a major US distributor, hope they don't sue you for
using their name without permission. (RIAA revisited?)
