Hello all, seems this topic has slowed down a bit and I was following it
in hopes of learning something.

I am still confused at all the 'routers' and 'hubs' and not really sure
about access points either. I know some basics but not enough to buy the
wireless cards, ect. and know its what I need. I have this vision of
useing an old Direct TV dish (the small about 2 ft dia. type) as an ant.
for wireless. Coax is lossey at 2.4 ghz, what about wave guide pipes?

I need a repeater, something that will put me in 'line-of-sight' with
others. I live in mountains and not alot of wireless backld
be nice to have it. I am not really worried about the internet, I have
never used it.

Please continue this topic to help me (and some others) better understand
what to buy and set-up.

Thanks and 73 73...
