You don't need PPP.
Just point the antennas at each other, the two ham radio
systems will be most happy to route to each other.
If you want more fun, use Wireless Ethernet Bridges.
Then you can run AX.25 directly across the link,
using BPQENET, along with the IP frames.
Works fine, simple to set up.
