Hi Mark and survivors,

Visturd? You use Visturd? Nothing personal OM but you can do better than
that! Windows has a long history of stumbling over itself and in a general
concensus of opinion 95 was barely fixed by 98, NT was the next hurdle, ME
stands for Mistake Edition and Vista was such a bomb Micro$oft had to
reengineer it and rename it W7. Now they jumped the gun again wit W8 and
like/dislike seems to be split down the middle.

That having been said, now we know that Outpost is compatible with Vista but
I for one never heard of Outpost. Interesting, I never used a software
mailbox, as a matter of fact I never used Winpack in Auto BBS mode. I always
preferred to visually scan the bulls list and download my choices manually
because people tend to "misplace" things in unlikely TO fields and robots
can't think, I never wanted to miss anything of interest.

As an aside, I loved the old Windows Terminal program in v3.1.1.1 which BTW
runs just fine on XP because it can download to any directory and upload from
any being all directories are external. Frankly it's the simplest and most
user friendly packet program ever was and all the while I must have been the
only packeteer who realized any TTY software will run wild with a TNC. After
all TTY and TNC have a T in common, like terminal, and a TNC has a modem
inside so modem command strings make it fly with the click of a mouse. Oh, if
your mouse squeaks when you press its ears you're using the wrong mouse.
