All-User Update, August 5, 2005

The new Common Message Server (CMS) system has been up and running since July 30.

There was an issue with users who check into more than one PMBO NOT having their message status changed on read messages when they checked into more
than one PMBO. For example, when a station checked into one of their PMBOs and downloaded their messages, these messages should NOT have been availab
le on other PMBOs they use. THIS PROBLEM HA BEEN FIXED. However, previously messages will need to be cleared. You will not be required to download a
message you already have. Airmail will reject it, and you will simply see the "already received" information in the Airmail window when the message
is proposed. Simply proposing a message already in the Airmail system will change its status to "read" and it will then go away.

The Catalog download service is now working with the CMS system. There still may be a few of the more than 700 catalog items that still need to be co
nverted. This is still a works-in-process.

The WEB Access has limited functionality, but work is progressing on the WEB Access. In addition, the new Winlink status monitor now includes real-ti
me status on those VHF/UHF Telpac Gateways who wish to be monitored.

Soon, there will be an announcement regarding SPAM. Shortly, each individual user will have the option to enable their own Acceptance list, and/or se
t their own SPAM level. An announcement will be forthcoming regarding how to use this wonderful new feature.

Remember, the previous CMBO system took over 6 years to perfect. The new CMS system has been in operation for less than one week, and is already demo
nstrating its improved speed and reliability, especially for emergency communications.
