Re reading MSWord 2007.docx files I use a great alternative to the MS
compatibility fix, that first wanted me to load a plethora of Ms anti
virus updates, none of which I want for my XP. I have AVG free that stops
dead all threats!
Again for free, I installed OPEN OFFICE ORG 3.2. It is found on
magazine discs, or a free download and Freeware use.
So when I click on a .docx file, up comes this beautiful looking word
processor, that by the way includes, PPS and MS spreadsheet reading.
How come they can do it for free, when MS charges an arm and a leg for
a cd.
It seems to me, in this very commercial world, that old pensioners,
like myself, or just poor home bodies get overlooked in pricing of
software.
I would like MS to develop a true home division, selling and servicing
good old products like XP, that can run 16 bit programs and the older
goodies like Norton Utilities. Also programs like Registry Mechanic, that
clean up the windows clutter of left over registry junk etc, that
re-invigorates one's computer speed.
Well I can dream! can't I??
