TODAY - FRIDAY 7TH DECEMBER
Today will be a cold, windy and showery day with sunny spells. Showers will be frequent and may merge into longer spells of rain with a risk of hail and thunder. Afternoon temperatures will reach just 5 to 8 degrees and it will feel even colder in the strong and gusty westerly winds. Winds will reach gale force on Atlantic coasts.

TONIGHT - FRIDAY 7TH DECEMBER
Tonight will be very windy with frequent heavy showers at first. They will become more scattered through the night. Strong and gusty westerly winds will continue, decreasing fresh towards morning. Lowest temperatures remain around 5 to 8 degrees.

TOMORROW - SATURDAY 8TH DECEMBER
Tomorrow, Saturday will be another windy day. Bright spells with isolated showers at first, showery rain in the west becoming widespread during the late morning. Westerly winds will increase strong and gusty again. Top temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.

NATIONAL OUTLOOK

Saturday night will continue windy with showery rain. Strong and gusty westerly winds veer northwest and decrease fresh to moderate by morning. Lowest temperature will be around 5 to 7 degrees. 

Sunday will be a brighter day with some sunny spells and scattered showers, these mainly affecting the west and northwest. West to northwest winds will be moderate to fresh with top temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees. Sunday night will become mostly dry with good clear spells at first but cloud will increase from the west later. Moderate westerly winds will fall light and it will turn colder with lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees and a touch of grass frost. 

Monday will become cloudy or dull with rain and drizzle in the west and north spreading eastwards. Afternoon temperatures will be around 5 to 7 degrees in the north and east and 8 to 11 degrees in the southwest and west. Winds will be mostly light southerly but moderate to fresh near coasts. Monday night will be cloudy and misty with patchy drizzle. Southerly winds will be light to moderate and lowest temperatures stay around 6 to 9 degrees. 

Tuesday will be mostly dull or cloudy and dry with just patchy drizzle at first but later a spell of rain is likely to push eastwards. Top temperatures will be around 8 to 11 degrees in moderate south to southeast winds. 

Current indication suggest that Wednesday may remain cloudy with patchy rain or drizzle but a spell of persistent or heavy rain may spread eastwards later in freshening southerly winds.
