I believe that the TV series 'Lost' despite being much repeated and hard
to follow, has a huge following world wide.
A couple of months ago, i saw the 'mad French woman' who has been on the
island for 16 years. I recognised her from that excellent series Babylon
5, which I enjoyed so much, I bought it.
Her name in B5 is given as Mira Furlan in the credits. I have examined the
credits of Lost when I have stumbled over it but, even when she has been
in it, the name Mira Furlan' doesn't appear in the credits.
I wondered if anyone knew what name she is acting under now. I know that
actors change their stage names e.g., Daniel Dae Kim, also in B5, has kept
to his real name in Lost.
Other people like 'Marina Sirtis' the 'councillor' in Star Trek has
appeared under her real name, something typically jewish, I forget what,
in other things. Most of the Trek cast who have appeared in other stuff
are, like Daniel Dae Kim, using the same name, like the chap who played Mr
Data
in Trek became the mad scientist in Independence Day - hilarious!
It's a pity Lost doesn't show the characters with names attached, that
would clarify things. MFW isn't in every episode
To me, Lost is similar to that long running series 'Twin Peaks' which I
mistook for a comedy. I never got the plot of that either.
The only difference is that, if I notice that Lost is on, I take a look
and find I've seen that episode 3 times already. At least, in the days of
Twin Peaks we didn't get it twice a week, six times if you have cable or
satellite TV, or Freeview like me.
'Mira Furlan' played Ambassador Delenn, one of the three principal
characters in B5. She does look well in to her 50s in lost but, to me,
still quite attractive.
If you are a 'Lost' fan and know her name, please let me know. If you
hated B5, don't bother telling me. It's all subjective after all.
All the best from - Ian, G0TEZ @ GB7FCR
