Early on during the actual 'war' I saw the headgear of the SA soldiers, as
well as Aussies and NZs.
Their commanders said they were mainly special forces who promptly
disappeared off the news. No doubt our SAS were around too.
The thing was played as pretty much an all American affair after that,
except for the British in Basra.
I did notice, one scene, where a bunch of Brits were sailing up the Shatt
al Arab, looking for hidden guerillas. Their head gear and weapons
identified them as The Special Boat Squadron of Her Majesties Royal
Marines.
Just recently, it has been mentioned that they were captured by Iranians
and only now returned. I suspect that they were under orders not to attack
iranians so, not as big a victory as it sounds.
As for getting out. I suppose someone could have a quiet word with the
Jews and tell them to go ahead with what they paid them not to do in 1991.
