We got a new band in Finland, beginning of April:
135.7 - 137.8 kHz. The band is available with 100W
output power for general and technical class licensees.
I have studied the sensitivity of my Kenwood TS-690S transceiver.
It looks quite good...the attenuator in MW BC band (520-1705 kHz)
has been bypassed, otherwise there is a additional 20-30 dB attenuation.
Frequency S dBm uV
--------------------------------
50 kHz 9 -67 100
60 kHz 9 -69 80
70 kHz 9 -78 30
100 kHz 9 -79 25
140 kHz 9 -81 20
330 kHz 9 -81 20
500 kHz 9 -63 150
1000 kHz 9 -67 100
1500 kHz 9 -67 100
1900 kHz 9 -79 25
3700 kHz 9 -81 20
7 -90 7
5 -97 3
3 -103 1.5
1 -108 0.9
14100 kHz 9 -79 25
50200 kHz 9 -85 13
3 -107 1
Only problem now restricting is the trasmitter operation:
after old modification, TX ceases to operate below 1705 kHz.
Hopefully someone has information how to pass this ...
Next is to build 'The Antenna' ...
I'm living by the lake and the nearby small island is abt.
one km away, so how about an end fed dipole... for 2.2 km band...
Regards, Kari
