A quick bit of research appears to say that the signal enhancement 
appears to be anything from 4db - 10db.

My original question was provoked by seeing the sale for a few quid
of MSF 60KHz ready made ferrite rod antennas with a fixed capacitance
attached.

As I can hear with my IC706 the 60KHz time transmission from my 
"trolley system" I wondered if it was worth while adding such an antenna
to observe any pre-auroral enhnacement.
