Hello WUN'ers
HAARP, ( the High frequency Active Auroral research Program, located at
Gakona in Alaska ) are performing their spring 2002 VLF injection
campaign, during the period March 15th - March 28th. The transmissions
are using frequencies around 3.2 MHz, 3.3 MHz and 5.8 MHz.
Transmissions start at 7PM, Alaska time ( UTC - 9h ) and will each time
continue for 10 hours.
What kind of signals to look out for:
3.2 MHz: 12.5 Hz on/off keying 50 % duty cycle
3.3 MHZ and 5.8 MHz: sinusoidal modulation with the following =
frequencies; 1225 Hz, 1875 Hz, 2125 Hz, 2375 Hz, 3365 Hz. At these two
frequencies, there will also be chirp transmissions.
HAARP has previously been known to QSL reports with correct
observations. This could be an interesting opportunity to put some
unusual UTE in the logbook. Wunners with longwave gear, should also look
out for some unusal signals in the ELF / VLF range.
AnyWun interested in their complete transmission schedule, ( .xls format
56.9 kB ) please contact me off-list.
