The following is posted on behalf of the two Daves and Graham.....
LF Dx-Pedition to Guernsey.
The first LF operation from the Channel islands will take place this weekend
from the island of Guernsey.
GU3YXM/P GU3XTZ/P and GU0MRF will be active from Friday evening to Sunday
evening from Vale in the NW of the island. 24 - 26th / 11/2000
The group will concentrate on 136kHz but there will be some 73kHz activity.
In particular they will be looking for crossband contacts to the HF bands.
QSX frequencies will be announced as they operate.
With several hundred watts and large kite mounted antennas, you can expect a
good signal from this team.
Most modern amateur radio transceivers will receive on 136kHz. If you have
access to an 80m or 160m antenna why not try to work the group on Guernsey. A
good guide is to reception is to tune to 138.8kHz This 24 hour data
transmission is from Germany. If you can hear that at good strength then you
stand a very good chance.
All QSO's and reports are welcome. Every one is valuable - Give it a try this
weekend.
73 es CU on LF
------------------------------------------------------
Also expect activity from GW on 73kHz GW4HXO/G3XDV/p GI with GI3KEV/p on 136kHz
OK1FIG and OM should also be active.
Good Luck de Alan G3NYK @ GB7MXM
