Hello again to everybody,
this morning I had not a lot of time... I was back home at lunch time and...

date time QRG call RST notes
05/02/2000  1050z  137.2 S57A    589  Boris is putting out fb sigs here
05/02/2000  1059z  136.7 MM0ALM  579 cq then qso with OE0ODL(?) fb sigs
05/02/2000  1200z  137.0 SM6PXJ  569-579 qso with DJ9IE (*)
05/02/2000  1200z  137.0 DJ9IE   589  qso with SM6PXJ (*)
05/02/2000  1218z  137.2 S57A    589+ cq cq even better than earlier
(*) this qso was astonishing! they were ...running hand (I guess) CW at 10-15
wpm as in HF! I checked at least 3 times the antenna connections fearing a
spillage through the antenna switch (my Xverter has the IF on 17 meter in order
to be able to use the TS950 as RTX with the Xverter).

In the afternoon I had some family duties .. visit to the 94years old
grandmother in a village near Turin but back home around 6pm I got the premium:
date time QRG call RST note
05/02/2000 17.35z  136.7  7S6SAJ  599+++ ending a QSO
"          17.40z  136.7  7S6SAJ  599+++ cq (1shot) and replay of ON4ZK
"          ...                    599+++ QSO with OZ5NE
"          18.10z                 599++  QSO with Z3?TZ
"          18.19z                 599++  QSO with I5MXX
  ....... dinner time!.....
The very first time I tuned the sig of Johan (7S6SAJ) I was minded he was some
of the usual I5... because my Smeter was peaking S9 and more so I was quite
sure that I copied a wrong call (by the way he was pouncing on the key very
fast) but I recorded the following cq ... u n b e l i e v a b l e! I had to
eat my liver because no sending antenna available!! When I5MMX made his replay
to the CQ I had doubts anout my own QTH because the signal of Johan was higher
than the signal of I5MXX. The call for the dinner broke the magic after 10
minutes I was back but I was alone... but a spot on the dxcluster announced his
new QRG and at 18.55z he was peaking ...only S6 and he had his pile-up of DL!
I realized that he listening on 80 too late .. when I was ready he was out.
Folks believe me: for 90 minutes I had the Smeter pointing S5 during the blank
and 9+10 during his transmissions!
Are these HRD just ground wave HRD?? I'm becoming full of doubts about the
behaviour of this band! hope my TX ant will soon ready.
as usual new recordings for new hrd available via e-mail
