Hello Lowfers,

I was able to copy a couple of stations here in JO52BH. I could not be QRV
during the entire time, however, managed to copy the following stations:

Saturday 16.1.99 07.00 UT G3YXM strong signal, copied
                                                 with FFT-DSP 4.2u

                         entire day several unidentified stations
                                                 around 137.700 (partly
                                                 strong QRN), had a
                                                 signal on 137.460 kHz, but
                                                 could not fully identify
                                                 (could have been G0AKN)

Sunday 17.1.99 changed to Spectrogram,
                                                 made signals much better
                                                 readable!

             17.1.99 06.30 UT G3LDO very strong (on 137.700 kHz)
                                                 audible signal!

             17.1.99 06.35 UT HB9ASB 137.790 kHz, not strong but
                                                 could identify "ASB" on the
                                                 screen

             17.1.99 06.30 UT IK1ODO was definitely
                                                 able to identify
                                                 "IKO" signal!

             17.1.99 08.20 UT G3YXM my first crossband
                                                 QSO! What a feeling
                                                 to see my own
                                                 callsign being
                                                 transmitted on LF!
                                                 Answered on 3570 kHz.

Station here: Datong converter with IC-746 (500 Hz and 250 Hz cascaded CW
filter cascaded), sometimes used build-in 80 Hz DSP filter,
Antenna: 82 m long Windom, U-Shaped around garden, average height 6m,
connected inner conductor and shield together, matched with l-match.

Experience: FFT-DSP 4.2u is great to get an overview about band activity.
If specific signal needs to be identified, switch to Spectrogram.

Hope signals were detected on the other side of the Atlantic (
and hope German authorities issue licenses soon !!!!)!

But even if those Transmissions were not successful in crossing the
large pond, this activity Weekend definitely had some strong impact
on the long-wave activity. After participating in Peter's DA0LF tests
months ago, this was the first time for me to be able to identify
(and even to QSO) stations on LF! Thank you for all praticipating
stations.
