The following press release was issued by the RADIO COMMUNICATIONS AGENCY
on 29.April 1996 -
"The Radiocommunications Agency announced today that a new amateur radio
frequency is now available for radio amateurs. The allocation
(71.6 kHz - 74.4 kHz) has been assigned following requests from amateur
radio community, particularly from radio amateurs who wich to investigate
progagation through the ground bytransmission from underground caves.
"The allocation will be available to any holder of a Class A Amateur Radio
Licence who wishes to investigate LF porpagation. Use of this allocation
require a variation of the individual's licence and applications should
be made the Radio Society of Great Britain at the following address:
"LF Allocation, The Chairman, RSGB HF Committee, Radio Society of Great
Britain, Lambda House, Cranborne Road, Potters Bar, HERTS EN6 3JE."
Colin, G3PSM, Chairman RSGB HF Committee says ERP is 0dBW (1 watt) and
other conditions apply. Full information will be published in DXNM 11.
