Well I suggest that you turn your radio on then Andy ;-))
The 2 meter packet channels are bursting at the seams with distant BBSs
coming in consistantly with high signal strengths.
Even seeing packet activity from Manchester. It seems that there is a
normally isolated RF network with BBSs and DXClusters and nodes still
thriving.

Well I'm not sure what you are wanting but top-band seems to be ok.
G<>VK amongst others seems to easily possible ( be it just a 10min window
each day at VK sunrise ).
Just sling up a couple of lengths of wire , it couldn't be easier.
Just try a little harder Andy and you may get rewarded.
