I'm not saying that exposure to certain chemicals isn't dangerous but i
can't help wondering what would have happened to jobs back then if we had
had all these health warnings.

As a boy, I spent a great deal of time erecting asbestos buildings.
Later, in the electronics trade. I frquently opened transistors which were
enveloped in metal and glass back then, and even wiped the white 'gunk' which
surrounded the transistor proper, on my hands. Which led to tasting it
occasionally.

It wasn't 'til many years later. I was told this was Beryllium and highly
poisonous.

I had heard of Beryllium at school but only as part of the periodic table.

I don't know whether I have anything now which could be blamed on asbestos
or beryllium.
I have no lung diseases. I have hypothyroidism but never went near to
Vanadium to my knowledge. It could be genetic.
All very confusing. No one to sue. Happy Yuletide. Ian.
