Hi Pete and all,

Don't complain about -20 Arctic air, if not for global warming it would be
-60. Alaskans have a saying; when it's -20 it's warm, when it's -40 it's
cold, when it's -60 it's GD cold. Ah, lake ice being 7" thick means you won't
see ice road truckers until it gets 20" or more.

Sarcasm mode off.

True, northern ice sheets and glaciers are melting, in fact Glacier National
Park has no glaciers anymore and Greenland is green around the edges. So
where is it going? Sea levels haven't risen as the greenies claim so it has
to be going somewhere and that somewhere is Antarctica. The continental ice
shelves are growing so you can say the ice is moving south. I'm sure that
ticks off the Aussies since legislation now forbids development near the
foreshore.

The ozone has to be protected? The only holes detected were over Antarctica
and they're natural owing to the Earth's rotation making the atmosphere over
the poles thinner than elsewhere. Something you may not know, while CFCs are
banned here DuPont who has the patent on Freon ships it overseas and the
ozone hasn't changed although it's no longer a news item. Why? Oh gee, it
might upset the greenies and set them off again like the last time. It's like
the carbon crap with China being the worst polluter and not just CO2,
particulates have been found here BTW. It has caused a political and economic
nightmare for Australia and Europe so it was wise the US and others stayed
out of it.

I don't know if the Spice in Dune is a few centuries removed, the novels
never mentioned a time frame. The strange part is the same as other sci-fi
stories, while technology is lightyears ahead of us costume and archetecture
is straight out of the Middle Ages. In any case mine was pure sarcasm
comparing Arakis with future Earth becoming a desert planet.

Cummon, comparing weather with garbage pollution is apples and oranges. When
it comes to nature only the White Man fights thinking he can conquer it while
more "primitive" peoples live in harmony with the land and weather. Garbage
is another issue that while not a news item concerns all of us and a perfect
example is the Pacific Ocean. Some years ago floating garbage mostly plastic
not being bio degradable was discovered trapped by the Pacific Gyre,
natural circular ocean currents. In just two decades it has expanded many
times over and now crap is washing ashore in Asia and North America! Not just
unsightly but a hazard to marine life that gets entangled in it but also
eaten so it kills many. Yes, this is one major concern so if nothing else
never throw garbage overboard, take it with you and dispose of it ashore
where it will be buried in a landfill giving future archaeologists something
to wonder about.

WHAT 7th wave? Where were the first 6? Who was counting waves but the
greenies and their propaganda machine? Check your meteorological history
before you swallow more BS, weather is no better or worse than it was since
records were kept. Even before there was any sort of Weather Service there
were newspaper accounts and before that records that go back even farther.
Don't wonder, storms are no more violent than they ever were and the only
things that have changed are population demographics and economics. Due to
increases in population more people are affected and the economic cost has
risen, the economic cost of EVERYTHING has risen. You can't buy a steak for
39c a pound or a gallon of gasoline for 29c anymore.
