If one asks Google to find cheap handhelds, it will come up with numerous
sources of these cute looking 144 meg handhelds. Made in China the specs
look good, ranging from 2 to 5 watts output.
The price is in the vicinity of only $99 including postage and batteries,
hand mikes, etc are only about $10
Both in VK and ZL hams are selling the units and are being sold by the
dozen to clubs. In addition a recognised dealer is now selling them for
about $20 more, with a 12 month warranty.
I wonder if anyone can comment on their performance, construction etc or
should I pay up to $500for a known Japanese brand?
