QRV in contests when condx permits, but unfortunately condx are better farther
east - and sometimes when condx are good here there are no stns to work.

quite often some dx stations are monitored for a length of time, but they are
very busy working some local stns (French stations working to England...)

I heard GU station on 70cm who replies every time I called: Please only
scandinavian stations that is OZ and SM ! So what to do then? Perhaps send him
a letter and wait 10 years for next chance?

I am very interested to work finnish stations, but only very seldom condx are
possible for this direction.

QRV as follows:
50MHz (defective antenna must be replaced) 20W PEP
144MHz 100w or more, prefer cw when condx are good
432MHz 50W SSB/CW 2x23 el yagies, please call me in cw if necessary!
we often call cq in cw on 432.200 and expect reply in ssb for ssb QSO
1296 20W PEP SSB/CW 1,2m dish
2320 1W PEP ssb/cw 1,2m dish
5760 10w pep ssb/cw 1,2m dish
10368 0.5w under constr. limited possibilities from home - only SM/OZ
       60cm dish planned
24192 ...

I prefer cw when it is crowdy - and it is easier to hear the info and select dx
stations. In aurora condx I listen for longer times after calling, in case any
weak stns are calling (usually they call very short)
Usually I use the technique of breaking the transmission to listen when you
might not think so, this is to avoid double transmission and to see if it is
other traffic on QRG. Therefore it seems like waiting for reply is short.

Transceiver:
FT-902 with cw filter on 50....1296MHz, IC-202 on 2320 through 24192MHz
Ft-7 is spare rig for 50-1296MHz, but very seldom used at all

QTH has free take-off for QRB 300 to 060, and some problems on higher QRGs from
060-300, this limits 70cm normal tropo QSO's normally to somewhere north of
Aberdeen.

PA0/PE-stations:
I am very pleased to work you on any bands during any contest, working to PA
makes a score of 1000 points average per QSO, this will make any better average
in time compared to working other stations, then nobody else in this country
seem to be able to beat me from this QTH !
Since it is so easy to work to PA, please leave most of the operation for
contests, possibly scandinavian activity contest. I am quite fed up of wasting
time on OZ stations because they too often turn the antenna toward sweden and
dissappear in noise, and as such they are too often waste of time
trying to work (and then they cannot turn the antenna further to the west!)

I found it is practical that rotator CD45 or other, to cover the range
270-270degrees, possibly more if a 400degree rotator is used, since it is
important to be able to turn the antenna +/-60 degrees around north for aurora

at the moment I do not work meteorscatter, and I will never accect SSB MS and
CW MS QSOs of slower than 1500 LPM, possibly 2000LPM - using tape recorder with
1:8 ratio. Since I gave the old rig to a friend I did not succeed with
modifying FT-902, and tone oscillator circuit is not fully prepared for use
