Hello contest-friends,
this was our fourth contest in the eifel at JO30EM. Three times we're lucky
camper with fine weather. But this time, the "usual" contest-weather (rain,
wind and low temperatures) got us bad.....
Unfortunately the wind was too strong to set up the planned 4 x 23 ele Flexa
for 70cm. So we decided in favour of the 2 x 23 ele.
Some guys told us we'd be deaf on 70cm. Yes, more's the pity we killed our 70cm
preamplifier tuning the henry-pa before starting the contest.....
Conditions had been bad on Saturday due to the rain on 23cm and 13cm, but
increased on sunday. We improved our scores on all three bands. But I think,
other stations also had more points than usual.
Besides a nice story:
We also set up a 80m ARDF-Beacon for two guys who tried to find us just using
a direction-finding receiver. They started walking cross country more than 20km
away from us and found us after 7 hours worn out and looking like a wet rag.
