RULES, 1997 Estonian Open VHF/UHF/SHF Championships.

DATE:        11 and 12 of October, 1997.

TIME & BANDS/PERIODS:

              1. Saturday 21.00 - 23.00 UTC (144 MHz)
              2. Saturday 23.00 UTC - Sunday 01.00 UTC (144 MHz)
              3. Sunday 01.00 - 03.00 UTC (432 MHz)
              4. Sunday 03.00 - 05.00 UTC (1296 MHz)

Note 1 - Frequencies according to the IARU Reg.1 Band Plan.
Note 2 - The same station may be worked once in each
          period of the contest either CW or PHONE (SSB,AM,FM).

CATEGORIES:

A - Single operator single band (SOSB)
B - Single operator multi band (SOMB)
Note 1 - A maximum of one transmitted signal per band at any given time.
Note 2 - Entrants may not change the location of their station during the
         contest.

EXCHANGE: Signal report (RS or RST) plus serial number of QSO,
          starting from 001 (on each band) and WW QTH-locator.

SCORING:  One point per kilometer of QRB. For scoring at least one QSO
          must be made with an Estonian ARS.
          ATTENTION! A given station regardless of mode, may be worked
          once in each contest period.

MULTIPLIERS:

 x1 -> 144 MHz,
 x5 -> 432 MHz and
x10 ->1296 MHz band.

SCORING:  1 point/kilometer on 144 MHz, 5 points/kilometer on
          432 MHz and 10 points/kilometer on 1296 MHz.  Final
          score is the sum of all points in all  bands during
          the contest period.

BAND SCORE: QSO points for this band times band multiplier.

TOTAL SCORE:The sum of the band scores.

LOGS: Separate logs (UTC) are required for each band plus summary sheet
      showing all scoring information, WW locator, category, contestants
      name, mailing address and a signed declaration.

AWARDS:   Up to three highest scoring stations in each classe
          of each participating country will receive the awards.

LOGS DEADLINE: The entries must be postmarked no later than Nov 12 1997
