Beginning with 1997, the YO VHF/UHF/SHF contest (international contest of
Romania) has new rules.The period is also moved to the first full
weekend of July.We hope this will make the contest more attractive.
RULES OF THE YO VHF/UHF/SHF CONTEST

The contest is organized by the Romanian Amateur Radio Federation
according to IARU recommandations.
Contest period :This contest take place every year, during the first
full weekend of July.Starts 1400 UTC Saturday, ends 1400
UTC Sunday.
Categories :A. Single operator, 144 Mhz.
B. Single operator, 432 Mhz.
C. Single operator, 1296 Mhz.
D. Single operator, multiband for 144, 432 and 1296 Mhz.
E. Multi operator, multiband for 144, 432 and 1296 Mhz.
F. SHF/EHF class for all amateur radio bands,starting
with 2320 Mhz, regardless of the number of operators.
Modes : A1A, J3E, F3E.
Bands : all VHF/UHF/SHF/EHF amateur radio bands, starting with
144 Mhz, except 3.4 Ghz.
Exchange : RS or RST ,a progressive serial number, separate on each
band, starting with 001, and WW QTH locator.
Scoring : 144 Mhz - 1 point/Km
432 Mhz - 5 points/Km
1296 Mhz - 10 points/Km
For categories D and E, the final score is the sum of the points
for each band.
For F category will be 1 point/km.The score on each band is the sum
of the points on each band multiplied by the following
factor, depending on the band:
1 for 2320 Mhz
3 for 5760 Mhz
6 for 10320 Mhz
9 for 24192 Mhz
12 for 47088 Mhz
15 for 76 Ghz
18 for 145 Ghz
21 for 245 Ghz
The final score for this category is obtained by adding the score
obtained on each SHf/EHF band.
Logs : Separate on each band and summary sheet.

Logs may be submitted also on floppy disk.Logs submitted on
disk must contain all required informations.Only ASCII format and
MS-DOS compatible disks will be accepted.

Awards : The highest scoring station in each category will receive the title
"International Champion of Romania" and certificates.
The first ten places of each category will be awarded with
certificates.The Romanian Amateur Radio Federation maintain
the rights to grant different special prizes for some stations
runnig in this contest.
THIS YEAR WE OFFER A SPECIAL PRIZE CONSISTING IN A FULL WEEK
IN ROMANIA (COSTS SUPORTED BY F.R.R) FOR THE WINNER TEAM IN MOMB
CATEGORY.THE SAME PRIZE WILL BE OFFERED TO THE WINNER IN SOMB.
Notes :1. Single operator means, one person performs and logging.
2. DX Packet clusters and DX alerting assistance are permitted in
all categories.
3. A station may be worked once on each band.
4. Contesters must respect the amateur radio regulations in their
countries, also the IARU recommandations.
