Hi Tony and welcome to the UFO discussion group.
Sorry to hear that although you are an avid UFO follower, you have not as yet
had your own sighting.
May be you should take up smoking !!!. May be that is why I also have not seen
anything since my one and only sighting in Derbyshire, England in 1954. I am
also a non smoker.
On a more serious matter. I think we have a lot to learn in the future. Our
technology is running at a fast pace at the moment. Just look at the
advancements that have been made since World War II. That war lead to a lot of
cash being spent on technical research, and the building of advanced gadgets.
The Nazi war machine really started off this advance and when the American and
Russian allies found samples and blue prints of these things (Planes and
Rockets etc) they spirited them away to their own laboratories and secret
underground bases. This research has not stopped and has gone on for many
years. Therefore much of what is seen as a UFO sighting could well be the
fruits of that work and they would certainly want to keep it secret.
Your theory of future time travel as you know is yet to become a reality.
Modern day scientists have still not been able to contradict Einstein's theory
of relativity, even though they have learned many new things about the
universe with the use of modern powerful Radio telescopes. Yet none of this
has unseated Einstein's theories or even given them a clue to travelling
faster than sound. The information gained has in fact strengthened his
theories of Physics. So where to next ? We have a lot to learn.
I personally do not think that Aliens have been travelling for many light
years to find us.(The problem is many people have modeled their thoughts on
the Star Trek movies).
Einstein did mathematically prove that Time & Space could be bent. He showed
that if you take a child's balloon and push your fingers into the sides they
will distort the surface and your fingers will meet. Therefore you would not
have to go all the way round the outside to get to the opposite side. This
leads to the unproved theory of Time & Space Worm holes that give access to
another dimension or place and time.
Many UFO's are sighted that suddenly appear or disappear. Did they come and go
through an unseen Worm Hole. If some it seems more logical than the Aliens
sitting in their Space ships for +- 41 light years or more. We have a lot to
learn.
Let the discussion continue, but I don't think we will reach a final
conclusion.
