HI UFO readers,
I see that Sten and Peter have started the discussion group and both with
lengthy replies.
I have now had 21 Hams report back to me, most of then wish to remain
anonymous. That's ok at least they communicate and cheer me on, and the
interest grows.
I have a lot of info to forward to you but I get a mixed bag of requests and
suggestions about, how big my bulls should be. Some say keep them short and
others say give as much as you have got. Forwarding does not seem to be a
problem these days as most, if not all is done via the internet. (so much for
the hams that say "Internet Hamming is no good). To me the Ham Radio scene has
to take a dramatic change to ensure it's existence and continuation, but
that's another story.
Some information for you.
If the theory that we will not be able to travel faster than the speed of
light throughout the entire universe then travellers coming to us will have
the same problem and it will also take decades for them to get here.
The late Astronomer Carl Sagen and his then colleague William Newman
calculated that if a million years ago a space faring civilization with a low
population growth rate emerged two hundred light - years away and spread
outward, colonizing suitable worlds along the way, (Their was a lot of fact in
the Star Trek series) their survey star ships would be entering our solar
system only about now. But a million years is a long period of time. If the
nearest civilization is younger than this, they would not have reached us yet.
A sphere two hundred light-years in radius contains 200,000 suns and perhaps a
comparable number of worlds suitable for colonization. It is only after
200,000 other worlds have been colonized that, in the usual course of things,
our solar system would be accidentally discovered to harbor an indigenous
civilization.
Have they arrived ? or are we all other things and interpreting them to be
Aliens ?.
Can space and time be bent to beat the time clock ?.
Don't foget that if they have arrived they can not go back, because due to the
Law of Relativity their species will have advanced millions of years in time
whilst to them only a few years would have past.
Can anyone out there tell use more ?
