Here are some Stats for SAHRUIG READERS.
Total number of Canadian reported sightings so far for 2008 is 289 cases.
Running Count
Reports so far from January 1, 2008 up until August 16, 2008.
*HBCC UFO Research* and *UFOINFO* together have received 289 written (and
audio) UFO sighting reports from January 1, 2008 up until August 16, 2008 and
I am sure the total number will climb as we still have a little over four
months left in 2008.
British Columbia in 2008 leads the Canadian provinces with 119 reported
sightings, followed by Ontario with 78 cases.
Below is a break down on reports received by HBCC UFO Research and UFOINO from
January 1, 2008 to August 16, 2008.
HBCC UFO Research Note on the total number of received by August 16, 2008. The
numbers below relate to what we have received from January 1, 2008 and the
numbers will climb throughout 2008, or until the end of this year.
Sighting reports from January 1, 2008 up to August 16, 2008
British Columbia - 119 reported sightings)
Ontario - 78 reported sightings
Alberta - 23 reported sightings
Nova Scotia - 13 reported sightings
Quebec - 17 reported sightings
Manitoba - 12 reported sightings
Saskatchewan - 11 reported sightings
New Brunswick - 12 reported sightings
Newfoundland - 4 reported sightings
Yukon - 0
Total number of Canadian reported sightings so far for 2008 is 289 cases.
The sightings range from meteor sightings, aircraft, stars, the ISS, etc.
Although many of the sightings were certainly explainable, there were some
really amazing cases in which no answers could be found and I am still looking
for a rational explanation for some events.
One of the most amazing UFO events took place between Houston and Burns Lake,
British Columbia on August 3, 2008 where two men were stopped by a UFO which
was hovering in front of their vehicle, not once byt twice on the same
evening. Also on August 8, 2008 in the same general area, Uncha Lake South Of
Burns Lake, British Columbia a number of eyewitnesses watched a large platform
with two circle objects attached to it floating/drifting across the evening
sky and finally disappearing over a local mountain. This craft? UFO was
estimated to be 200 to 500 feet in length.
I should also add the Okanagan in British Columbia is again proving to be a
Canadian hotspot for reported sighting. In particular Vernon, B.C. has been a
very active area.
Other amazing cases came in from Ontario and other provinces as well. I would
also like to note, the 289 reported sightings came into just *HBCC UFO
Research* *UFOINFO*. There are many other UFO organizations across Canada and
in the United States that are receiving Canadian UFO cases. So the total will
be much greater for each of the Canadian provinces by the end of the year.
I couldn't even guess how many UFO reports were reported from the United
States and other areas of the world. Most sightings do come into us from the
United States and we are very happy to receive them, actually some of the best
cases are coming from the U.S. and go back numerous years.
Like I always tell folks, no matter when the UFO event took place, please send
in your report, as I am here to help where I can, and am extremely interested
in what the witness has to say. I also keep harping on an important part of
this UFO topic, and that is that the witness who is reporting to me, is that
their private/personal information is completely confidential if required.
Well in the next four months we shall see what other interesting cases come
into us. Don't forget to file your sightings, new or old.

Sydney, Nova Scotia Disc Shaped UFO Lands And Leaves Burn Marks
Date: 1973/1974
Time: 9:00 - 11:00 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Flying or rotating coming from the direction of the
Canadian Radar Base towards South Bar and it passed between the Radio towers
above MacLeods Farm and landed on a property in South Bar. Witnessed by many
and investigated.
Number of witnesses: (2) many.
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Disc shaped with upper and lower domes.
Full Description of event/sighting: Came over MacLeods Hill from direction of
manned radar base and flying low and seemingly slow. It flew between the radio
towers on top of MacLeods Farm directly across the street. Dull metallic,
either bronze or silver with continuing lights of the prime colors, ( blue,
green, white, red, yellow) seeming to be circling fast around the middle of
craft. But to an opened mined well read 15 year old and her father, it looked
like it was in trouble. Landed on Richarsons extended front lawn and left
circular burn marks and investigated by military. Awesome to totally know,
with out doubt, we were not alone in the universe. Reported in local Cape
Breton Post Record and approximately 3-4 years ago ran a full page on "The
South Bar UFO".

Jackson, Georgia A String Of 10 Lights Hovering
Date: 1982
Time: Evening.
Location of Sighting: Barnett Bridge Road.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 10
Shape of objects: Unknown.
Full Description of event/sighting: I and a friend were traveling in my car
and came to a stop sign at a "T" intersection in Jackson, Georgia USA. It was
very dark as we were out in the country and there were no street lights within
miles. When we stopped at the intersection both of us looking through the
front windshield noticed a string of large, bright round lights hovering just
above a stand of pine trees that were approximately 70' in height and about 50
feet away. We counted 10 lights in all and they were spaced approximately 20
feet or so apart. Just below each of the larger lights was a smaller light
that was either strobing or flashing. We couldn't see any type of craft(s) so
didn't know if the lights were attached to one object, or whether they were
separate objects. Our first inclination was that these were helicopters. I
rolled down my window to see if I could hear anything but there was no noise
coming from whatever the lights may have been attached to. My friend then got
out of the car to see if he could identify what they were.
He then jumped backed in the car, spooked, and asked me to "get us the hell
out of here!" So I took a right hand turn and we sped away. After going a few
miles down the road our curiosity had gotten the best of us and we decided to
turn around to go back to see if the lights were still there. Upon returning
to the intersection where we saw the lights we noticed they were still right
where they were when we had left a few minutes prior, in the same position. We
stopped for a few seconds to look at them again and suddenly all 10 lights
rotated to face us in the car. At this point both of us were freaking out and
I said: "Whatever it is it must be one ship with 10 lights". Then, all of the
sudden, the lights took off from a standstill at such a speed that within
literally 1 second they were past the horizon.
As the lights sped off they separated, and were probably miles apart by the
time they were dots on the horizon. Later that evening, after telling all of
our friends and family about what we had seen, we called the radio station to
see if any others had called in about the lights. The person at the station
said that no one else had reported seeing anything and that what we had seen
was probably weather balloons. Since when do weather balloons travel at such
speeds?

Village Of Beech Hill South Of Reading Berkshire, UK Disc UFO
Date: Late 1990s
Time: Around midnight.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Flat disc.
Weather Conditions: Good.
Description: Flat disc with swirling colours approx: 20 feet in diameter. It
faced me like a dinner plate face on hard black rim and made a noise like a
tug boat engine. Before it's sighting there were two very bright lights and I
watched it for around half a minute.

Hobbema, Alberta Black Triangle As Large As A Football Field
Date: Fall 2005
Time: After 1:00 a.m.
Location of Sighting: Hobbema.
Number of witnesses: 2

Shape of objects: Triangular.
Note: I would like to point out that this UFO incident has never been told
before to anyone.
Full Description of event/sighting:
Additional Information:
The sighting that took place back in the Fall of 2005. I had a really nice
conversation with one of the witnesses, both of the fellows who saw the craft
are security guards. Hobbema, Alberta is located about one hours drive south
from Edmonton, Alberta, or just south of Wetaskiwin. Hobbema is on a native
reserve.
The two men were working as security guards for one of the native bands and
had just got on their regular shift at midnight and started making their
rounds in the small village. Awhile into their first check of the community
they noticed a strange light in the distance which appeared to be coming in
their direction and seemed to be very low in altitude. The fellows were
driving along on a dirt road in the truck when this large craft, football
field in size with three orange colored lights which were located on the three
points of the large triangular craft passed slowly and directly overhead of
them.
The driver of the truck stopped the vehicle and both of the men decided to get
out and stood there observing the large UFO. The triangular craft sat
stationary at a low altitude over a field (Pow Wow grounds) just a short
distance away from the security guards. Both men stood stunned as to what they
were seeing. There was no question at all when figuring out the shape of the
object as it was darker in color that the night sky. The UFO made not sound,
also another thing the men noticed was the crickets and dogs that normal would
be making alot of noise were silent.
After approximately 30 seconds to a minute at most, the passenger of the
vehicle started freaking out at the driver as he was trying to get the trucks
spotlight turned to illuminate the craft and surrounding area. The passenger
was scared and demanded that they leave the area where the craft was right
away. So both men got into the truck and started to move, and as they drove
slowly along the dirt road the triangular UFO moved along with them, pretty
much pacing the men's vehicle. Meanwhile inside the truck the passenger is
really going off at the driver, telling him to get moving faster so they could
get out of the area. The driver mentioned to me that he told the passenger
that they will most likely never get a chance to see something like this again
and the driver slowed the truck and they came to a stop, arguing about what
they wanted to do. As the vehicle came to a brief stop, the UFO started to
pick up a little speed and so did the truck, in other words the driver wanted
to try to keep up with the craft. In the meantime the passenger is swearing at
the driver to stop as he was going to get out of the vehicle and walk in the
opposite direction the UFO was traveling. The driver stopped the truck to let
his friend/co-worker out, he glanced again at the object and it shot off
towards the east and was gone. The driver said it was out of sight in an
instant.

Newton, Kansas Giant Moon Sized UFO Glides Through The Sky
Date: Around June or May 2008
Time: 1:30 a.m.
Location of Sighting: Newton, Kansas.

Shape of objects: Round and huge.
Full Description of event/sighting: I went outside around l:20am because I
could not sleep. I was looking north in town on the porch and all of a sudden
I saw an object that was huge and brilliant and looked just the moon with no
blue in it, just pure white that came gliding across the sky between my home
and the house next door to me. There was no noise and if I been looking the
other way, I would of missed it. I watched it glide across the sky and tried
to see where it went but there were too many trees around but it had a faint
blue line behind it as it traveled so faint you could hardly see it. i do not
remember the exact month but it was either at the last part of May or around
the first week of June somewhere in that time frame for it. Anyway, I did not
report it because I did not no where to do that and I was just wondering if
anyone else saw it too but I listened on TV and the radio to see if anyone
said anything about it and I never heard anything. i was wondering what it
could possibly be and it was very beautiful to watch as it glided across the
sky. but it was also very weird to see something like that I have never seen
anything like it before. Does anyone know what it could be.

Dunstable Downs, Dunstable, Bedfordshire Four Ball Like Objects
Date: July 19, 2008
Time: 2330 - 2345

Shape of objects: Ball/round
Weather Conditions: Clear sky with some patchy cloud.
Description: At about 2330, I observed a single ball of bright orange light
travelling from west to east moving steadily in a straight line at about cloud
level. At first I thought that this could be a plane on the flight path to
Luton Airport but quickly discounted this as no navigation lights could be
seen or engine noise heard. I also thought that the colour could be caused by
moonlight bouncing of the hull again dismissing this as a plane could be seen
near by. Moments later another orange light came up quickly behind the first
and maintained a fixed distance which I observed until they both disappeared
behind cloud cover. Neither object made a noise nor left con trails (and could
surely not fly so close to each other due to jet wash)?
Approximately 2 minuets later I observed another orange light, again
travelling in the same direction but slower. The object carried on moving
until disappearing behind cloud cover. I then told my wife what I had observed
and went to the rear of the house to observe any more objects. At around 2345,
I observed another ball of orange light travelling in the same direction. I
rushed upstairs and made my wife observe the object. Again this was also lost
behind cloud cover shortly afterwards. This was the final sighting.

Crawley, England UK 10 Large Orange Lights
Date: July 26, 2008
Time: 11:15 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: Around 10
Shape of objects: Large orange glow. With a line of faint blue, white lights
above the main orange glow
Weather Conditions: Partially cloudy, warm night, no wind.
Description: went outside for a cigarette, i look up and see 3 of these orange
lights moving slowly about a mile or 2 away from the house, I called my
brother out to have a look as well, then around 7 more appeared in a line one
after another. Then after the last one, was a plane following them at the same
speed, till all of them (including the plane) disappeared behind the clouds.

Saltdean, Brighton, East Sussex, England 6 Objects In Total
Date: July 26, 2008
Time: 11:45 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 6
Shape of objects: Hard to tell due to the darkness but I would say circular.
Weather Conditions: fine, clear, dry and very warm.
Description: I saw 6 objects in total. All of them came in from the south
heading north. The first two were approximately 200ft up and approximately
20ft apart. One was higher than the other. Both were moving at the exact same
speed. They were orange in colour and moved at a quick pace. Not something
which I would say was floating in the breeze. These went behind houses which
was when we lost sight of them. Another one came across a few minutes later.
This one was slightly higher than the previous two. This again was moving
quickly and seem to climb in height. This again was lost being houses. We then
witnessed three of these objects coming across.
These were slightly higher approximately 400 feet. They were eventually spaced
by about 20ft. We watched these come across the front of our house then off
north across the fields. Their height did not change throughout our
observations nor did their speed. I have checked the weather balloon video etc
- I can confirm that this is not the same as we saw.

Waterborough, New Brunswick UFO Hovers Over An Open Field
Date: July 26, 2008
Time: Approx: 10:30 p.m.
Will you allow me to send a report for a relative who doesn't want to be
identified? He has lots of experience with planes so I think that his report
is more credible because he knows what "normal" aircraft look and behave like.
A silent, hovering 'craft' was in the north or north western sky over an open
field in Waterborough, NB, beside Grand Lake on July 26th at approximately
10:30 pm Atlantic Time. The only light was moonlight. Two large tail pipes
were glowing with orange-like flames like after-burners and they were upright.
The craft itself could not be made out in the dark, but with the distance,
they had to be very large. In the distance, they looked to be about 8 to 9"
across each.
My father saw it and called my mom to the window. What made the greatest
impression on them was that the night was quiet, there was no noise in the
area down their road and still the 'aircraft' made no noise whatsoever. With
the size of the exhaust, my father could not understand how it could be
silent.
A neighbour who lives on the north side of the field saw something from his
house also and he thinks the 'craft' was white. He did not see the orange
glow like from after-burners.
The 'craft' was there hovering for several minutes and then it fled at no more
than 200 mph straight to the horizon--without a noise.

Chisim Outside Of North Bay, Ontario Lights Looked Like A Disco Ball
Date: August 8, 2008
Time: Approx: 1:00 a.m.
We were all hanging out at my friends house in Chisim (a small little hick
town outside of North Bay, Ontario) when two of my other friends came running
in yelling about some odd lights in the sky. Despite my love for the X Files,
I am still somewhat of a skeptic, and because these two were drinking, did not
think anything of it. However, they were persistent, and pulled me outside. I
was driving that night, and therefore completely sober, and what I saw in the
sky was like nothing I have ever seen before. It most certainly was not an
airplane, and although at first glance we thought maybe it was a satellite,
the changing colours of the lights quickly had us dismissing that idea. The
lights looked like a disco-ball in the night sky, as they slowly turned,
changing from red, to blue, to green, to orange, and eventually back to red.
What was really extraordinary, was that there seemed to be one brighter light
that the other two lights followed. It was like this one ship could move in
different directions at the same time! After watching the craft for some time,
it slowly faded away after it seemed to be getting quite close. I hope you can
respond back to me with some insight on this sighting, as me and my friends
are very curious to know if we did, in fact, see a UFO!
I can remember the date was Friday August 8th of this year. The time was
around 1:00am. The appearance of the UFO did not last for more than 30 minutes
while I was outside, but I can't say how long it was out there before hand.

Vernon, British Columbia Objects Caught On Film (Photos)
Date: August 12, 2008
Time: Approx: Noon hour.
I had two more sightings today, and the reason I say two, is because they
were very different objects, both in daylight, here in Vernon, BC, noon hour.
One I managed to get on camera, and was a very large, cloud level, cone shaped
object, rounded on the largest end. It would suddenly appear where I was
looking, I would snap a picture and it would vanish. I was on a walk with my
pup and as I walked, I couldn't help but to look up constantly. It would
appear again and again; I would snap a picture and then it would vanish. It
did this several times, on several different streets, in different
orientations in the sky; east west south etc. Sometimes I would barely catch
a streak in the sky, but knew I had seen it again. Other times it would stop
long enough for me to get a picture. I got three pictures from different
locations on my walk. It was so bizarre. It almost looked like a rocket that
could stop and hover.
The other, which did not show up well on camera, was a white orb which hovered
at cloud level, and because the object was white, against white clouds - it
only showed as a tiny slightly darker spot on the pictures. I kept the
pictures because I know what I saw, but others wouldn't make much of the tiny
darker spot against the clouds. So I won't attach those pictures. It slowly
moved East to West. It would pause for a moment, move and pause again as if
unstable, and then after about 5 minutes it vanished.

Northeast Of Brandon, Manitoba Tube Like White Colored UFO
Date: August 17, 2008
Time: 3:50 pm , clear sky - slight breeze.
1 mile east north east of Brandon, MB (south of the trans Canada)
I happened to look up at the sky and just over by the grain elevator (a 1/4
mile away), was a object in the sky. It was not up high. Not as high as a
plane may fly. It was a fair bit closer to the ground then that.
It appeared to me as an almost tube like object. It was white and there were
no wings to it at all. I stood there watching, wondering what it was as it
came from the west traveling to the east. I had a perfect view of it as it
flew overhead. I had ample time to watch it in clear view. It continued to
travel east as I watched it for five minutes in total.
It was slower than a plane, but it appeared to have thrust and was being
controlled.
I did not see any lights or markings. It made me think a smooth slick craft,
that could go very quick.
There was no contrail and no visible exhaust/thrust port to it as it passed by
overhead. There was no sound to it as there would be a very clear sound had it
been a airplane or a jet/rocket.
The object continued to the east as I watched until it was finally out of
sight.
