Hi there,
Nice to chat tonite.
Last eve - 24 January 2007 at approx 6:45pm just after sunset, I was watering my garden and looked northwards at the sky towards wonderboom airport.
My vantage point was from Riviera Pretoria, halfway up Meintjies Kop hill (northern side of the union buildings hill)
I saw what I thought was a flare - an extremely bright light appeared well above the northen ??Magalies Kruin?? hill. There was no emergence from the horizon nor upward motion, the light was just there.
The sky was not yet dark as the sun had just set behind Meintjies kop, and the white-yellow light was extremely bright for the early evening time, hence me noticing it.
It was difficult to judge the distance, but the light-object appeared to be spherical and seemed from behind the magalies kruin about 10km from me.
the intensity of light grew rapidly dimmer and the object moved off in an easterly direction in a straight line, stopped and return to it's original position for about 15 seconds. It grew brighter for about 15 seconds, but not to it's initial intensity, then moved off westward, again in a straight line, the n returning to its original place, hence having displayed a symetrical motion: point to east, ack to point..pause...point to west and back to point.
It then grew brighter to almost the initial level, then faded to nothing whilst remaining stationary. completely vanishing!
Although the wonderboom airport is northwards from here, and there is a lot of airplane traffic, this object did not display any kind of movement or give off the type of light characteristic of standard air traffic.
There was no flashing light common to aircraft, and it made no sound.
the total viewing time I guess to be between 40secs and 2 minutes - I am not too sure in retrospect how long I was watching.
It is very similar in appearance, but not motion behaviour, to an anomaly I sighted from my house on 6 March 2004, which I reported on http://www.ufoinfo.com/sightings/southafrica/040306.shtml
Perhaps it would be sensible to contact the airport to find out about scheduled / early notice flights in and out of there that evening?

Q: Would you say Marek that the sun, although it has already set was lighting the object up ?
A: Not a chance there - the sun was down already and there is a ridge to the west so the sun was well gone
Q: Or do you believe the object itself was creating it's own light ? I know this is rather hard to tell, but something to pass by you. At least your thoughts on this.
A: Yes in deed - I am quite certain it was, as the intensity varied in a logarythtmic fashion, as if it were controlled.
Q: If you held out your thumbnail at arms length, roughly how far would you estimate the object traveled horizontally before returning to the same place in which is started from ?

A: Seeing it was a long distance away from your location, chances are you would not have heard any sound from it.
I often hear planes that fly in thorugh the same general airspace as where I percieved the object to be
Q: Is there any other detail you can add that might help out on this ?
A: My neighbouring friends have seen similar phenomena on other occassions, but have dismissed these as meteorological phenonmenon - I'll enquire a bit further with them into the next week if I get chance to chat to them.
Q:Also, if possible could you do up a rough diagram, or a graphic to show the objects complete path of travel. This would also give a better idea of it's maneuvers.

Lunenburg, Vermont Colored Light Zooming Around The Sky
Date: September 16, 2006
Approx: 11:30 p.m.
Location of Sighting: South Luneburg Road
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 3
Shape of objects: Hard to tell lights flashing in a circle motion.
Full Description of event/sighting: My friend and I were walking back from a bonfire at our friends house which was about 2 miles from my house. As we were walking I'm pointing out constellations to my friend. As I point to Orion's belt something catches both our eyes. About 200 yards away we see a flash of lights blue green and red. It took off from just above the tree line and went straight up. Then a hard left making movements that no aircraft could have made. Both me and friend are believers in the UFO theory so we ran after the object. When we came to a more open area the other two objects appeared darting left and right coming very close to each other. At more then one time we thought they were going to hit ! Then one by one they zoomed in different directions then disappeared in a millisecond. Both my friend and I knew no one was going to believe what we saw and we were right mentioning it to our friends the next day. They did not believe one word, but we know what we saw was some form of UFO.

Clearlake Oaks, California Bright Object Moving Over The Hills
Date: January 24, 2007
Time: 5:30 p.m.
Location of Sighting: West over the hills of Clearlake Oaks.

Shape of objects: Round.
Full Description of event/sighting: I was walking past my dinning room window when I noticed a very bright light over the hills to the west of my location. I went outside to check it out and it was moving from the west to east coming closer, actually in my direction just a little north of my house. And as it got closer it zoomed way up in the sky in a blink of an eye. It went from being about 1500 to 2000 feet up to at least 30,000 feet, maybe more. It was just a speck to my eye then.

Culver, Oregon Sphere Shot Up Like A Bullet (Photos)
Date: January 24, 2007
Time: Approx: Noon hour.
I would like to report a sight I had on January 24 around noon here in Culver, Oregon.
I was taken pictures on various things I got for sale on line and I was walking towards my Alfalfa field when I saw this sphere moving side to side really fast, one moment it would be on one side of the hill in the picture and the next on a blink of a eye on the other side.
At first I thought it was a balloon but it was like blinking in and out each time it blink it would be in a different side of the hill.
I reached up and just shoot the picture in hope to catch anything and right after pushing the button on the camera the sphere shoot up like a bullet I mean it just like went up and vanish I couldn't tell where it went!
I didn't hear any noise at all and I would think for something to go that fast boy it has to make a lot of noise you know.
Also it was right over a fairly travelled Highway (Hwy97) and Culver Hwy too.
I told my wife and she told me it was just a Para Glider...right...that thing was not flying I tell you it was like a light going on and off but you could tell it was solid reflecting the sunlight and you could even see like when the road is to hot around it.
So this is my experience the entire show lasted less than 2 or 3 minutes and it was over, I wanted to share my experience it with you and the people that visits to your site.

San Marcos, California Spherical Shaped Objects Make Random Movements

Full Description of event/sighting: I went out front of my house for a look at the sky. I noticed some high clouds scattered in a layer. Something made them look different than the other clouds in a partly cloudy sky. They looked like ripples.
A flash caught my attention. It was a sphere, moving west against the wind. I brought up my Steiner 8x30's and instantly caught it in view. Then a short distance away, in the same field of view there was another sphere that looked identical to the first. They were very shiny and reflective.
One of my neighbors approached and asked what I was looking at. I described what I was seeing, and asked if she could see them with her eyes. She couldn't, so I gave her the binoculars but she couldn't spot them. I took the binoculars back and caught them again. Each had some appendage beneath. I can't describe the appendages, except they were twice the length of the spheres.
They made random movements, starting and stopping, but remained in the same field of view. They moved apart, so I focused on the shiniest one. It had a red spot on its side, it may have been rotating. It accelerated to the west and disappeared.
I focused on the other. It continued it's seemingly random movement. I was focused right on it. It flashed red and disappeared.
Less than a minute later a commercial looking jet, white in color, passed thru the same part of the sky the spheres had been in. From it's size I'd say it was at 20,000'. in comparison the objects were maybe 30' in diameter. The duration of this sighting was approx. 5 minutes.
