U.S. Army M.P. (Military Policeman) Speaks On UFOs
HBCC UFO Research Note: I was granted permission to post this letter, and leave in any names.
Message: I spent 12 years in the U.S. Army. From 1973 to 1976 as an M.P.
I was in Ft. Jackson, South Carolina in 1974 on a training exercise. One night, two other soldiers and I were in Columbia, South Carolina checking out the sights and we looked in the sky and saw 6 glowing blue discs in formation. As we watched the UFOsdispersed in erratically zig zagging movements and disappeared quickly. The first thing that came out of one soldier's mouth was 'geese?' We looked at him and said 'no way!'. That was my first time experiencing a UFO encounter and it stayed with me for a long, long time.
In September 1976, I had another UFO encounter. This time I was out of the Army and living with my former girlfriend Helen Lang in an apartment. One night, she came running back inside the apartment screaming. I asked her what was wrong. She said that a UFO was hovering 200 feet above her head. I didn't see anything. I noticed she was hysterically crying. I drove her to the Sacramento Sheriff's Department and they had her use their phone to call an 800 number to call Dr. Allen Hynek of the Chicago, Illinois Bureau of UFO Investigations. Dr. Hynek sent us some forms to fill out, so she could describe what she saw. Dr. Hynek later called me and asked what I was doing. I told him I was watching "Dick Van Dyke's The Comic" on TV. He asked what happened when Helen was screaming outside, I said the TV went on the blink, it displayed static and I was trying to fix the TV, when I heard her screaming. He told me that when UFOs hover nearby, that they cause disturbances on car engines, TVs and radios. This was a normal occurrence. Later I learned that 2 other people in Sacramento saw the same UFO in two different locations and it was reported in the Sacramento Bee.
From 1979 to 1986 I was back in the U.S. Army. This time I joined Military Intelligence and I was stationed at PIC-K (Photo Interpretation Center - Korea). During my time as an Intelligence Analyst I categorized 6 photos taken by reconnaissance satellites of what appeared to be UFOs.
The UFOs moved on their own accord, as if they were guided by some kind of intelligence. Therefore the 6 photos were significant by Military Intelligence. The photos moved up the intelligence chain from Military Intelligence to DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency) to CIA (Central Intelligence Agency). From there, I don't know where the photos went. It was necessary for us to work closely with certain elite military groups. Another strange photo I once saw was given to me to categorize. It was a photo of an American POW in Vietnam, taken in 1981. The photo went into a metallic box with a combination lock and disappeared up the intelligence channel. The spooks (intelligence personnel) I worked with, would never discuss UFOs. Most spooks belonged to some sort of secret society, most were Freemasons and I was a Rosicrucian.
I received an H identifier and became an Army instructor and taught the Soviet Threat for OPFOR (Opposing Forces Sniper Rifle in which I was proficient in. During my time with OPFOR, I learned from Intelligence circles, that the Russian KGB also knew and were aware of what exactly UFOs were and where they came from.
To this day, I don't know the answers to the UFO mystery, but hopefully one day our Government will disclose what they know to the public.
Those were many years ago and Helen Lang's UFO claim was fully published in the Sacramento Bee, there is nothing new there that wasn't published back in '76.

Birch Bay, Washington Three Lights Traveling Together
Date: March 1997
Time: 11:00 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1 ?
Shape of objects: 3 lights
I was star watching and satellite watching about 11:00 pm. While scanning the sky, near the constellation Cassiopeia to the west, 3 lights began moving west to east. They were very high and were about the same intensity as the satellites seen at night. They were moving slightly slower. The 3 lights stayed in the same position relative to each other. They suddenly disappeared when they neared the constellation Big Dipper. I called NASA the following day and they said 3 satellites would never move togetherthrough the sky like that. I believe the area between the lights blocked out stars behind but it was very hard to see. That same month many others around the world reported a triangular light object.

Midlothian, U.K. A Box Shaped UFO
Date: November 5, 1999
Time: 6.45 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 4
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Box
On 5 November 1999 I was walking over to park with my daughter when we saw lights going round above our heads, these lights followed us over to Bonfire then disappeared. Anyway we came back home I got a phone call from a friend to say his wife had been followed by these lights I asked if lights where still there. He looked outside and said they where gone. I then looked outside and could see them so I started to film them and could only make them out when I went over the tape. Then this box UFO came intoview on the tape and it was moving very fast, like into view and out.
So the only way I could get a good look at this object was to put it on video then film it frame by frame from my television set. The box UFO comes in to view from right then moves down then moves off very fast. Going put this on site for you to view. http://lsufos.com

Vancouver - Burnaby, B.C. 25 Witnesses Observed A Black Oval Shaped Object
Date: Summer 2003
Time: 3:00 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 25
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Oval
We were driving west in the afternoon into Vancouver on the #1 freeway. And in a clear sky overhead and to the south was a black object in the oval shape of a rugby ball! It was not moving and stayed exactly where it was as we approached. It seemed to beabout 2000 feet above the ground near our Central Park and about the size of a 747.
Many people pulled off the highway to look at it, including 2 policemen. It did not move at all and was not a balloon or kite.
In retrospect, the oval shape could have been a circle shape as viewed from an angle. It seemed like the opening of a round pipe.
We rushed home expecting to hear breaking news but nothing was said about it. I can see the area from my apartment and looked with binoculars after getting home but saw nothing and wondered if my angle of view now was parallel with the shape so it would be a straight line if in fact it was a flat opening of some kind like a disk? I would love to hear what it could have been.
Our viewing angle was from the #1 freeway. We noticed it somewhere east of Willingdon Ave. interchange. It never appeared to be hovering, or moving at all or affected by wind or anything. It was definitely NOT a balloon or kite. Just solidly stationary in the sky. As if it was a flat plane of black disk, not even an edge to it. Nor did there appear to be any structure or shape to it other than the solid black disk. No light reflected off anything.
As we got just past the Willingdon exit, the traffic slowed down and we pulled to the side of the road as others did. There were even two RCMP officers stopped on a side road, (on what I think might be called Clydesdale St. which leads onto Grandview Hwyat Boundary Rd) they were out of their police car looking up at it too. Other traffic had slowed. I passed by and went home, listening to the radio for reports, but there were none. I even expected the 6 PM news to have video. When I got home, I live in a high rise in Vancouver and could see in that direction east, Central Park is directly in my eastern view, I got out my binoculars but could see nothing. I accounted that to the fact that I thought it was a flat object, and from my new view, it would only be a line in the sky if it was still there at all. The thought did come to mind that it could have been a circular shape, if viewed directly from below, however I never went closer to find that out.
When I told some others about it, someone suggested it could have been a "black hole". I DO know what a real black hole is, but that was an apt description of what it appeared like. As if a pipe was there for some reason, and we could only see the hole in the pipe, but not the pipe itself.

Spring Valley, Las Vegas, Nevada 30 Daylight Type Stars (UFOs)
Date: December 29, (?) 2005
Time: 8:30 a.m.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 30
Shape of objects: Daylight stars.
There were two hot air balloons up in the sky south of Las Vegas. I went for the binoculars and that's when I saw what looked like white balloons high over the hot air balloons. My husband and I watched these objects move towards us and arch back to the south. We watched them for at least 30 minutes as they moved from Sw to Se, like a wagon train of UFOs. Sometimes they would be in triangle formation. This was a magnificent experience to watch.

Abbotsford, British Columbia Green Flare Like Object
Date: April 16, 2006
Time: 8:00 p.m.
Message: I live in Abbotsford near highway #1. I saw a green flare like object in the sky on the evening around...April 16, 2006 or so. I was in my room, which faces south, and all of a sudden I notice what looks like a green flare. The curious thing about this flare was unlike most flares that go up and down, this one was travelling west and slightly down. This happened in the evening, perhaps 8:00 p.m.. It looked like it was travelling along highway #1, but it could have been further south. I thought it might be a meteorite except for its green color. It did look like it had a trail on it. In my opinion, it travelled too fast and too far to be a flare. I even called the police department and reported what I had seen. I asked if they had any other calls about this and they said they had not.

Hwy 100, near Lyerly, Georgia Possible Missing Time ?
Date: April 22, 2006
Time: Between 9:00 pm and midnight.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Triangle.
Today I read a UFO report about a sighting in Kelowna, B.C. http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=8664 and an aspect of it reminded me of an experience I had last weekend coming home from a movie, the part about eyes in the darkness.
Before I recount this, I would like to refer to an event where my brother witnessed a triangle-shaped craft over my mother's house, my home in the following report, a year or two ago. My mother, practically minded to a fault, has also witnessed a craft hovering over the road in broad daylight that she refers to as a 'stealth bomber'. Seeing as there are no military bases around here for the Army or AF to be conducting manoeuvres in residential areas, and I'm not sure stereotypical stealth aircraft are even VTOL, I'm not sure what to make of her claims.
I had biked to Rome, GA to see a movie on Saturday, and when I came out of the theatre it was around 9:00 PM and dark outside. I had a long bike ride home in complete darkness ahead of me, most unintentionally, I can assure you. I set off down Alabama Highway and when I was halfway to the turnoff for Highway 100, I looked to my right, out in the woods, and the beam from the tiny Army flashlight on my ballcap's brim illuminated three pairs of eyes about 70 yards from the roadside, gazing at me without blinking for several minutes. I've lived out in this countryside all of my life and I have taken lots of walks at night, and I've never seen anything like this in my life. I hopped on the bike, having been walking alongside it to rest, and took off in terror.
I had been on 100 for a few minutes when I looked out into the woods and saw the same three pairs of eyes again, and they watched me without blinking for at least 10-15 minutes. Whatever they were, they could move fast enough to beat me there on foot. How fast, I wouldn't see for myself until I'd made it halfway home down 100 after peddling away in fear again. They actually approached the road as I left, staying enough out of the range of my LED light to only show as eyes.
I was coasting down a hill and approaching a curve when I looked to my right again and saw a pair of eyes matching speed with me about 20-30 yards away, moving through the thick forest in a smooth, sailing way--no wobble or vertical movement normally associated with speed and foot travel, especially when something has to account for fallen trees and thick undergrowth. It then overtook me and crossed the road at the curve ahead of me, moving from a ten-foot roadside drop-off to the road and into the woodson the other side at a 4 foot height, again with that smooth sailing movement, staying enough out of my light to only appear as a pair of eyes. I was coasting at least what I'd say as 35-40 mph, peddling down a hill.
Soon after that, my mother drove by and picked me up, upset that I was out so late. I looked at the car clock and realized that it was 1:00 AM. I'd had no way to know what time it was, as I'd had no watch, but how could I have taken that long to get thatfar? I'd left home earlier that day just after 2:30 PM and arrived at the theatre just after 4:30 PM, a scant bit too late for the matinee. I did the math and deduced that I must have lost time somewhere on the way home.
So I don't know if this qualifies as a bonafide sighting or experience, but I thought it rated high enough on the WTF scale to recount to someone willing to listen. My mother and brother's experiences, at least, seem like the kind of thing appropriate for a report.

Shape of objects: Very bright light.
April 24, 2006 at 7:32 pm my wife and I were eating ice cream in the parking lot watching people go in and out of the arena, looked to be lacrosse. About ten minutes later I was looking out the side window and see a bright light and said "look" and pointed out the window. We both saw the lights above the building. It looked like flares or a welding spark, very bright. One large one and a smaller one underneath. I jumped out of the truck and said did you see that, she said "yes" ! Kind of spooky. Never s

Moricetown, British Columbia UFO Just Vanishes Before Witnesses Eyes
Date: April 24, 2006
Time: Evening
I was over in town today, (Friday April 28, 2006) checking on the postal mail, plus grabbing some cash from the banking machine. I was talking to one of the ladies who works at the Royal Bank in Houston, B.C. She asked if I was keeping busy with the UFO business. I told her I was, and she went on to tell me about a sighting that took place in Moricetown, British Columbia which is just west of my location. The lady said she heard it on the Smithers radio station. So when I arrived back home I called the station in hopes of gathering some information on the sighting.
On April 24, 2006 in the Moricetown, British Columbia a bunch of people were out playing baseball when they spotted, what resembled to look like a fighter jet, but with neon lights all over it. The sky was clear and all of a sudden the object just completely disappeared. The direction the object was taking, was from west to east.

Modesto, California Interesting Objects Filmed
Date: April 26, 2006
Time: 2:00pm and 2:20pm.
I had a very interesting day while I was over at a friends house in Modesto, California. We had just finished doing yard work in the backyard, and my friend had to run some errands and asked me to stick around for dinner. It would be more than a few hours before I needed to head up to the Sierra foothills for a meeting with an associate and so decided to stick around.
While I was enjoying the beautiful California day I noticed these little 'sparkles' or 'bright sprites' showing up in the eastern direction. I thought that there were too many of these to be an isolated aircraft as they appeared to jump from one area to another by random and wide distance margins. Since I travel no where without at least one camera, I ran to the car to grab it.
Within a short time I had my 6 megapixel Fuji digital SLR set up and started taking pictures in the general area where I kept seeing these bright reflections or flashes. I had finished taking about 800 shots and decided to transfer and load them into my laptop for a closer inspection, hoping that perhaps I got lucky and caught one of these 'things'. Of course there were your normal bugs and birds and other known airborne particulates that got captured too. But there were three or four shots that definitely didn't seem to fall into any of the known categories. I pulled up a small program that allows you to zoom in on photos that brings out greater detail and I was surprised at what I saw. Staring in my face was what appeared to be a
semi-shiny spheroid (or orb) shaped object.
I was feeling pretty good about my 'captures' and went back outside to retrieve my camera and tripod, (this was about an hour later). I had just grabbed the tripod and started to walk back when I noticed a huge reflection in the North by Northwest skies.Well I thought to myself, I'm here with the camera and tripod in my hand so what the hell lets take a few more shots!. I had the camera in burst mode so was able to fire off five shots instantly and then came back inside to see if I'd gotten lucky again.
The very first shot nearly made me fall out of my chair. It seemed to have many of the characteristics of a classic disc. I quickly opened up the small photo program to zoom in on the object and was surprised to see what appears to be a cupola on the topof this object. There also appears to be a few of the orb or spheroid shaped objects flying nearby which I found very
interesting. It also made me wonder if the number of reflective flashes that I had seen earlier in the East were perhaps associated with this discoid shaped craft. One of my associates likes to call the spheres "Spyroids" and this made me think, what if the disc shaped craft was releasing these objects (for recon or other) and then recovers them back for the information gathered by them.
I am not saying that I captured anything spectacular as these photos have still not been looked at by my usual contacts that I send these to for further analysis. But my fellow skywatchers that I keep in contact with thought that they were pretty interesting shots and suggested that I post them for you and your readers to take a gander at. So I've included two original shots (albeit they've been cropped to keep the email size down), and then a few zoomed cropped and slightly filter-enhanced versions.
April 26th, 2006
First shot that includes the orb/spheroid shaped object was captured between 2:00pm and 2:20pm. It was shot facing the east at full 12x zoom with a Fuji S602 digital camera.
No air traffic was observed during the shooting.
Wind was a mild 3-5 mph from the South.
Distance to the object(s) is unknown but is generally considered to be quite
a distance from the cameraperson.
Second shot of a discoid type looking craft was captured about 3:20pm. It was shot facing the North by Northwest at a Full 12x zoom with the same camera as above.
Again no air traffic was seen or observed.
Wind was still mild and unchanged
Distance appears to be slightly closer to the cameraperson than that of the spheroid shaped object.

Foxboro, Ontario White Circular Object With Red Light On Top
Date: April 27, 2006
Time: 11:00 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Back of our home.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: White circular object with small red light on top.
At 11:00 pm until about 11:15 pm we were closing up the house for the night. Spotted to the south east of our home was a bright white light just barely above the trees in the distance. This light fluctuated in intensity for the first 4-5 minutes.
This bright white light proceeded to go straight up to the top area of the tree that is just off our property (the tree is approximately 75 feet tall and still has few leaves since it is only spring). Then it went back down to the base of the tree line in a straight line. It repeated this 'jump' three times. All three times it moved straight up and down.
At that time I called my son up at his upstairs window. He looked out and watched this object with me. For some reason the object seemed to move faster once I called my son to watch!
It made approximately 4 more moves in a straight up and down manner, but, was moving slowly to the southwest initially doing this.
The It started to move even faster to the south towards the lake. However, it again jumped up and down about 10 more times. We are talking 6-12" jump in the sky. At first we both thought maybe a helicopter, but, as the object cleared the trees (few leaves on any of them) we saw a second smaller light above the large white light. The second light was red. The second light did not vary in intensity nor flash on and off like a light on a plane.
The lights continued in a south-west direction for about a total of 6 minutes before disappearing. There was no sound visible either.
The sky was clear and we had most of the lights of the house off on the east side of the house during this viewing. We have seen helicopters move in a similar manner, but, not in the same location multiple times and not at night or silently.
We are at a loss to explain this bright object in the sky. There was no moon visible and the sky was pitch black and full of stars here. We live in the country and have few 'light' areas from the city in the sky.

Glasgow, Scotland Object Appeared To Look Like A Walnut Split In Half
Date: April 29, 2006
Time: 3:10 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Round/oval (observed from almost directly underneath).
I was lying out in the back garden this afternoon getting some sun (a very rare phenomenon here!), and I opened my eyes, probably about 3:10 or 3:15 p.m. this afternoon - and looked more or less directly above me.
A craft was flying, west to east, slightly to the south of where I was. It was kind of Oval-shaped, and I saw it from it's underside. It reminded me of a walnut split in half, in that there was a glowing line around the edges of the vehicle and also a line seemed to me to be visible straight up the centre, from tail to front of the craft, and this line was also glowing somewhat.
The glow and light seemed as though they might have been simply catching the sun, but then the angle from which I observed the craft would seem to me to mean that the underside would have been more or less in shadow, as the sun was still fairly high in the afternoon sky - maybe"Two o'clock" from the zenith of the sky overheard...
I was listening to a CD, so I remembered to take off my headphones to determine if there was any sound accompanying this craft or if it were silent.
It was only visible to me for a few seconds, from the moment I opened my eyes until it "disappeared" as our building blocked it from view. I had the headphones off just as it was about to be blocked from sight, and I heard distant sounds of jet engines, but Glasgow has a fair amount of conventional air traffic, and I don't *think* this distant jet engine rumble was connected to this object. The jet engine noise did not seem to be coming from a distinct portion of the sky, and not from where the craft was heading.
I stood up a few moments later and went around the side of the building to see if I could spot it as it went on it's way, as it had not been moving with extreme speed - but I couldn't see it.
The object was not moving too fast, as I say, nor was it moving erratically. Rather it was flying in a straight line - blithely - it seemed to me - and I also had the impression that it was "going about its lawful business, "in plain view of anyone who cared to notice.
Height from the ground? Difficult to say. From where I was, its size was about half a fingernail. I can't be specific, but - I suppose anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 feet up (depending on how big it actually is).
