Subject: Remote LPT v 1.06 through TSThost143c packet.
------------------------------------------------------

Hello everybody,

I have written a smal external QB4.5 program for TSTHost143.c for dos.
It can switch lpt pins high/low or check its status.
It uses the eight datalines from a lpt db25 connector pin 2 to 9.

So now its easy to switch things on and of via packet link.

Just connect the PMS and type 'rem lpt1 xx110000'
and pins 3 and 4 are going to 5 volts.
Pins 1 and two stay the same and pins 5 to 9 are going to 0 volts.

So x means doesn't care.
You can use lpt1 to lpt3.
If only typed 'rem lpt' or 'rem' then you get a short help.

I use optocouplers and relais to switch all kind of things on 230V ac or just
12 Volt on and of remote by it.

Just copy the REM.exe program in the C:\TST\PG directory and it works.
Thats all.

It can use a file called lptcall.txt with max 10 calls for lptadjust
permissions.
If the file isn't present or found then the user get 'All welcome.'
in first line and every one can adjust the lptpins.

Put it in the same dir c:\tst\pg\lptcalls.txt.

Like:

PA3BNX
G8MNY
PA0CVW

If that file is not present all calls can adjust lptpins.

If the PG dir is present it logs all remote commands in a file called
'lptlog.txt' for easy checking what did happen hi...

The circuit diagram of the lptport interface has been uploaded before by me
in the BBS.

Nice way to test it use 8x 330 ohm resistors in series with 8 leds on the
lpt pins to mass pins 18-25 to test it.

Tip
---

You can test it simply by connecting yourself in tsthost or
test it at the command prompt like:

rem pa3bnx 0 lpt3 xxx1xxxx
---------------------------

Let me now if you like it or have other wishes to make in it.

Extra
-----
I have made a help remote with 'rem ?'
That gives a list of devices you can switch with 'rem lamp1' etc.
It switches lpt3 predefined pins.
If have tested the program under ms-dos6.22 and win98se.

It maybe can run under TstWin221 under win98se (not tested).

If you encounter bugs report it to me.
