} I must add that the latest version is 1.43c, which is y2k compatible.
} I beg to differ about flexnet, I have tried it on my P133, 686L 166,
} 386SX33, and a friends P100, and in all cases it locks up at various
} times after bootup. Sure, it works fine WHEN it goes, but it is
} unreliable.
Reading this as one who has never had the slightest difficulty in running
TSTHost on Flexnet using a variety of machines and host programs, I wonder
where the problem lies, in the software or the user?
One big mistake some users make is thinking that they can run TSTHost in a
DOS window "on top" of Flexnet in Windows 9x. If this is the case then you
might as well give up as it will not work. The only way to run TSTHost on
Flexnet is in a "pure DOS" environment i.e. boot your P.C. up in DOS, load
Flexnet then run TSTHost. This will give you years of happy operating
providing you have read the manuals and configured Flexnet & TSTHost
properly.
If it helps, when I want to run TSTHost on my Packet (Win95) P.C., I use a
floppy boot up disk. It simply boots up in DOS 7, loads Flexnet 3.3g and
then runs TSTHost. When I want to run a different packet program in Win 95,
I remove the floppy and re-boot.
