Hi.
Sometimes when forwarding a message to the BBS, the transfer aborts before
it's actually started sending the data, the session is disconnected and an
"FF" is printed (presumably for Forward Failure?). On the next attempt, it
might work - or it might take several attempts. The only time I have had a
similar problem before is when the BID is wrong (i.e., used before), but
this is not the case here as a resend of the same message with the same BID
(obviously) often works. It is a puzzle, and annoying as it prevents any
further messages being uploaded until the failing one eventually gets
through (or I give up and delete it).
My local BBS is FBB7. I don't know how long this particular version has
been in use, but it does look like its the BBS that is rejecting the
message, as TPK sends the command line telling FBB to receive the message,
and then when the TNC acks the info and the BBS responds, it kicks it out.
Does anyone using other binary forwarding software such as Winpack have the
same or similar problems I wonder?
