}}¯ Hello all.
}}
}}¯ A friend of mine has just upgraded to Windows 95 and he is now having
}}¯ great difficulty getting his TPK programme to run. Something to do with
}}¯ Comport 2 (I think). Has anyone experienced this problem and got any
}}¯ suggestions please. I dont run WIN95 so I cant help him.

}}I have found the same problem. I am using TPK with a Baycom modem. On my
}}old 286, runnind Windows 3.1, it runs quite happily as a DOS application,
}}but under WIN95, I have to reboot the computer in DOS, or I get a message
}}that the program can't find the Comport. To do this I have set up the
}}WIN95 equivalent of a PIF file, since I need to use the mouse. Instructions
}}on how to do this are in Help.

}Hell Doug,
}Win on a 286 must be painfully slow eh?
}
}Now to my comments re WIN95 and disabling comports or whatever.
}It is not so easy if you, like me, use com2 for packet and internet (modem)
but here
is
}an easy way for you all.
}
}Goto      My Computer
}          Control Panel
}          System
}Select    Hardware Profiles
}          Copy
}Type      TPK (or whatever)
}          Ok
}
}Reboot
}
}Now as WIN95 boots it will say WIN cannot determine the config required (or
similar)
}and a menu will be displayed,
}
}1.       Original Config
}2.       TPK (or whatever)
}
}Hit      2 (enter)
}
}WIN will boot
}
}Goto     My Computer
}         Control Panel
}         System
}Select   Device Manager
}
}Select the device you want to disable ie COM2
}Double click on it
}Check the box next to: Disable in this Profile
}Select Ok
}
}Reboot WIN95, and now everytime you select TPK on bootup, COM2 will be
disabled, but
}selecting Original Config will run WIN95 as normal.
}
}Have fun,
}de Bob
