Hello John,
The 'bug' noted in TPK seems to happen when I accidently hit the INSERT
key while reaching for the <- key. The cursor changes from square to a small
underline character. When this happens, pressing enter will only send the
cursor back to the start of the line I've been typing on.
Pressing INSERT again will put things right.
OR, has a BUG really been found?

Yse! You have. The cursor don't find himself in the line while in
Owerprint mode. I found it in the TPK 1.82 first time. And it is still
there in the TPK 1.83c!
