I too have experienced the clogging problem, but was aware of it early on.
What happens is you download AND READ a message an then hace done with it.
That is you don't want to keep it forever, so you "appear" to delete it by
hitting Ctrl+U. This does delete it from the list you get when you next
type Alt+L. But the message STAYS IN THE HARD DRIVE - forever, so
to
speak.
THAT is the problem, and requires that you list on a piece of paper all
the
message numbers you want to keep (as per your Alt+L list, then using a
file
handling programme (such as Xtree for us non Win95 users) you manually
delete all the message numbers that are no longer wanted. Hoping for no
mistakes. Fortunately both programmes / utilities list them in number
sequence order, which helps.
