    Hi TPK users,

I read Geo's ZL4CW problem with interest. On trying to reply to his
bulletin, I found that what he said was true. His packet addres is :
ZL4CW@ZL4TAY.#95.NZL.OC. Using the reply facility of TPK I found that
as soon as I entered towards the "Type:P" field the "#" is removed from
the addres. I then edited hroute.tpk and corrected the address putting
the "#" back. On returning to ZL4CW's bulletin and pressing "R" to
reply to this bulletin, the "#" was again removed in the process of
    entering towards the "Type:P" field.

On correcting the address in the hroute.tpk file again and then,
instead of trying to reply to the bulletin of ZL4CW, I addressed a
message primarily to ZL4CW@ZL4TAY.#95.NZL.OC and found that this time
the "#" was not removed. The problem therefore seems to be connected
with the use of the "Reply to" facility. I then tried the "Edit
facility" which also enables one to get the message, to which you
would like to reply, in the editor screen. This will work but you have
to first remove the address to which the original bulletin was
directed, then type in the call i.e. ZS4CW or whatever the callsign
concerned may be to automatically obtain the address from hroute.tpk.

I noticed that the "Reply" facility will remove any other ascii
character such as $, & etc. I trust that the author of TPK, om Gerard
Regnard F1EBN, will take note of this problem and have it rectified in
a follow-up version. Aside of all, TPK is still the best packet program
ever, all credit and many thanks to Om Gerard for providing us,
the TPK enthusiasts, with such a super terminal node program.
