                   HORSE FEATHERS

He said, son,I came years ago, from the east.
And let me tell you, a horse is a mean beast.
When I arrived here, on this dirty bag of bones,
It was like riding, on a sack full of stones.
Money for a saddle or boots, I did not have
And everytime I swore, that old horse laughed.
So one night, under the roof, of my old canvas tent,
I thought of selling him, for a few lousy cent.
And suddenly a stench, came throught the clair night air
It was that old stinking horse, who was doing it, right there.
I was trying to breath, get fresh air for a while,
And when I looked at him,he gave me that stinking smile.
Next day while riding the lonely flats,
I was thinking, swapping him for two cowboy hats.
I climbed down that old filty beast, one more time,
And then it happened, I was on the end of the line.
I was just walking around this big bend,
When I got stuck, in deadly quicksand.
I slowly sank, and was screaming out loud,
And then there he was, my good old horse, with open mouth.
This lovely old horse grapped gently my shirt,
Seeing to it that I did not get hurt.
And later, save and sound by the fire we laid, together,
Me stroking his back, with a soft horse feather
And when I closed my eyes, and had this nice dream,
My horse, was the loveliest, I have ever seen.
And finely we rode to the homestead west,
Me on his soft back and getting a good rest.
He knows I love him,and that he is brave,
And I hope, I don,t offend him, with my after shave.
For me, that is truly all that matters
But got to go,have to look for some more Horse feathers !!
