I dont have precisely the software version you are trying
but I don't think the PMS changed much. I don't know what
response you expect as I don't recall a /msg command
All PMS remote commands are single or double letters
as the PMS is already in command mode it needs nothing
to indicate a command. some confusion might arise as the
command prompt appears as
 
CMD(B/H/J/K/MK/L//M/R/S/SR/V/?)> 

but the slashes are just seperators you must not type them
as others have said the only command that will need a / is /EX
to terminate a message

Hopefully you have configured the MYPCALL to its own unique 
callsign not the same as MYCALL. The next question is
when you connect from outside as a user to the callsign in 
MYPCALL do you see the PMS prompt such as

***CONNECTED TO G7XXX-X
Logged on to G7XXX's Personal Message System

CMD(B/H/J/K/MK/L//M/R/S/SR/V/?)>

Lets see if you get that far
