I have always preferred a TNC, as it works even with the computer off, to
receive mail and others can retrieve mail. I use script files (startup
and exit) to set it for the same callsign, with or without computer on.
After trying several types, I find the Pacomm Tiny2 most easy to set up
and use. Even though the memory battery has long died, the Winpac startup
file puts all parameters differing from default back in.
