I've always found the WDT on the MFJ 1270B to be very effective ... unless
the defeat jumper is installed :-)

I built my own PCB to duplicate the TCM3105 modem that came with the USCC
card (also an ISA version), but back then I had a handful of the TI chips
laying about from redundant Baycom style modems.
