Balloon launch from Meiningen (JO50en), on 5th July 2003 at 10:45 UTC
Dear YLs and OMs,
about 13 months (1.6.02) after our prior launch of a balloon flying
through the athmosphere from Meiningen (JO50en) we now plan a second
attempt for 5th July 2003 at 12:45 local time (CEST) / 10:45 UTC.
An expected altidude of 20-30km can force flight distances of 400km.
Mission duration will be about 3 hours.
The flight hardware consists in the already known GPS- and Telemetry Unit
and, this time additional, a 70cm/2m linear transponder.
Telemetry data will be submitted within PR-UI-Frames with 1200 Baud.
Submission will be on 145.200MHz with vertical polarization.
The hardware is not connectable.
A summary about telemetry data and formats aswell as usage information
for the transponder will be posted here later, few days before lift-off.
Lineartransponder is supported to us by its contructor William Leijenaar,
PE1RAH.
Uplink range will be from 435.075...435.125MHz LSB/CW and downlink will
be 145.925...145.875MHz USB/CW (inverted passband). Output power will
be about 100mW into a vertical up-side-down douband groundplane.
Please do not transmit much power into the transponder, that could
overrun the transponder and other users wont be able to use it.
Please use only small band modulations (CW,SSB) NOT FM!
Send your rapports and logbooks to DL0RCW@DB0CRI (PR) or to
df0ais@aatis.de (E-Mail).
During the mission observers can exchange information on PP-Convers
channel 55.
