Hi folks and balloon enthusiasts :
UAFS ( Independant amateur radio association Salzburg ) proudly announces:
On 10th of Mai 2003 at 7.00 UTC (09.00 MESZ) SARTOB-08 will be launched.
SARTOB-08 = Salzburg Amateur Radio Transponder over Balloon number eight.
Xponder Output: 145.200 Mhz transmission 0.8 Watts in FM phone and packet
Xponder Input1: 432.750 Mhz in FM for phone input. NO squelch for max. gain
Xponder Input2: GPS receiver. Results transmitted alternatively on 145.200
Mhz with phone traffic on a 3 minute schedule.
2. Transmitter: 144.650 Mhz 70 mWatts . Modulation FM with CW Identification
and Packet 1200 String: call, temperature, voltage, GPS
3. Transmitter: 28.630 Shortwave 100 mW. CW ID and QSL info
FM-ATV transmitter : 1257.000 Mhz 1.2 Watts ( circular) with onboard cameras
color and B/W alternating in 3 minutes interval.
Reception is possible with an unmodified Sat-Receiver
Antennae:
Transponder: Stacked L/2 dipoles dualband, vertical
ATV-TX : eggbeater with reflector, circular
2. TX : Loop inside electronics box, horizontal
shortwave : L/2 dipole vertical 2 x 2.5 m
If all systems are working correctly and the starting window allows a proper
launch, we expect to work most of the European contries, as it was the case
in recent launches.
When the balloon crashes on expected 30.000 m or more, it comes back on a
parachute, constructed by OE2AXL (C)
At "parachute time" the schedule is changed to 12 sec. intervals for GPS data.
All stations are welcomed to work via SARTOB-08 .
