From my short experience time with local hams, they are old
and do not understand or like 'data' modes to begin with.
I also hear that the older radios had to be run at 25% of
power for the finals to hold up, but the new ICOMs that I 
have do not have that limitation accoriding to the manual.

Standing by and waiting for more experienced hams...
