Dalton Adding Machine

The first and best known 10 key printing adding machine of
its time. There were apparently many variations, some with
glass windows to see the internal workings. Dalton merged
with several other companies in 1928 to form Remington
Rand. Remington Rand built UNIVAC, the first commercial
electronic computer, in 1951. Remington Rand was acquired
by Sperry in 1955 to become Sperry Rand which continued to
make UNIVAC computers. In 1986 Sperry merged with Burroughs,
which also made adding machines at the turn of the century,
to become the present day company, Unisys.
