I am sure you will find it on the 'net,Warren. If I went into an
explanation of MHD power generation, I am sure you would go there to find
out about it. BTW I did explain it briefly to Pete while we were chatting
on Skype and he had heard of some of the experiments including some which
showed it needed clean, fresh (not salt) water and , preferably no
impurities, so there is no way it could be used to power a submarine.
p.s. I have never seen The Hunt For Red October so I don't know about it.
pps. The New Scientist, which I used to read when I was younger is not one
of the 'Popular' series. It is a serious magazines for scientists; a bit
like the American 'Nature'.
